Evidence

The environment for this loss-of-control sequence was a 2-lane road with a shoulder and drop-off along the right side and a cut bank on the left. Light tire scuffs were visible in the curve showing the vehicle had slid completely across the oncoming lane, veered back towards its original lane of travel, and then steered back to the left to avoid driving over the embankment. Crash site photographs also showed a substantial region of water in the curve, attributed to a natural spring exposed by the cut bank.
